Passion and dedication

Over thirty years ago, a business trip to South America led Albino Tonazzo to the realisation that a diet based on the consumption of animal protein was no longer sustainable for man and the planet, and that a transition to vegetable protein was the way forward.

This is how Kioene was born in 1988: from a very clear vision of what the future would be and from the realisation that it was necessary to act immediately, thus becoming a pioneer in the production of 100% plant-based foods and the first producer in Italy.

The company debuted on the market in 1990 under the BIO-ENE brand, which then became Kioene in 2013.
The choice was not accidental: in ancient oriental cultures, “Ki” is the name of the individual’s inner energy, “O” represents the circle symbolising universal harmony, “ENE” is the planet’s energy that also encompasses that of all its inhabitants.
Kioene is therefore the energy of the individual in harmony with everything around him or her.

Since that day, we have invested all our passion and dedication to bringing tasty food that everyone enjoys to the table.
